If the water allows, then wade (scramble!) out onto the very rocky weir at the head of the pool, just up from the access steps. Fish the far half of the stream where the fast water meets the slacker stuff. The fish lie 10yds down from the ledge you are on.
Fish the pool from the bank all the way down as best you can, but concentrate on the head as above and also between the arches (of the railway bridge) at the tail. In front of the first pillar is a good lie as is between the second and third, but the latter needs a good cast to reach at a shallow fish angle.
The water level gauge can be seen upstream of the Umberleigh Bridge on the other bank. It is measured in metres and 4.5 would be considered average height. Fish have been caught in the Home, Bridge and Hut pools up to 1.2 metres on the gauge.
