The River Taw Fisheries Association (RTFA) exists to promote the interests of its members by protecting and improving the fisheries of the River Taw system.
Membership
Anyone wishing to join RTFA, as a Full Member (riparian owners only) or as an Associate Member, should contact our Treasurer, Mac McCarthy, by telephone or complete and return the Application for Membership form.

The rod fishery regulations are as follows:
Salmon
-
Fishing season from 1st March to 30th September inclusive.

Use of shrimp, prawn, worm or maggot, real or imitation, is prohibited at all times.
- Use of spinners is prohibited after 31st March.
- No salmon to be retained before 16th June.
- No salmon greater than 70cms to be retained after 31st July.
- The following bag limits for salmon apply after 16th June:
- 2 fish in any 24-hour period.
- 3 fish in any 7-day period.
- 10 fish in a season.
Sea Trout:
- The following bag limits for sea-trout apply:
- 5 fish in any 24-hour period.
- 15 fish in any 7-day period.

40 fish in a season.
No rod caught salmon or sea trout may be sold or offered for sale.
Please respect our voluntary code and return all sea trout of 5lbs and above
