River Taw
The two beats which comprise the fishing of the Club, as the name implies were the two Prime Salmon and Sea Trout beats owned by The Rising Sun Inn at Umberleigh and fished by patrons successfully for many years.
The beats contain some of the best fishing on the Taw and include such renowned pools as Diagonal Pool, Strode Steps, and the legendary Bear Pit.

The Rising Sun Inn has kept one Beat a day soley for use by it's patrons and for day tickets. These are available to book at £40 per day per rod by phoneing the pub on 01769 560 447.
